Marty Wood is a writer, educator, and storyteller interested in communicating design and designing communication. He has spent the past 10 years building brands and nurturing communities.
He is currently Director of Marketing and Communications at Move38 bringing Blinks: The World’s 1st Smart Tabletop Game system to market. Previously, he served as the Program Director for The Architect’s Newspaper’s Facades+ and Tech+ Conference Series in 2017 & 2018.
As an Educator, he teaches writing and research methods to art and architecture students at Pratt Institute in support of their developing practices.
As a Writer, he co-founded the online publication Resonant City to explore the critical intersections between art, architecture, and technology. He has published reviews, essays, and criticism in a variety of publications including Metropolis and The Architect’s Newspaper. He serves on the editorial board of the new publication, Proseterity.
Marty studied communications at San Francisco State University and in 2015 completed a M.S. from Columbia University’s Graduate School of Architecture, Planning, and Preservation in the Critical, Curatorial, and Conceptual Practices in Architecture program.
